Welcome to the sixty-fifth issue of my weekly news article, Love dA Lit! :dalove: Every Sunday this article will aim to promote volunteer opportunities, various resources, prompts, challenges, and workshops, as well as highlighting various contests, interviewing various members of the literature community and spotlighting a specific group every week. This is by no means a complete list of all the literature going-ons, merely a tool to help you get involved and stay informed.

:star: This weeks group spotlight is writers-in-progress! :star:

This Week's Group Spotlight

:spotlight-left: :iconwriters-in-progress: :spotlight-right:

writers-in-progress is a long time group that focuses on giving writers helpful advice and a place to discuss the writing process. They are collecting writing resources and tutorials and post journals frequently to help members reach out and interact. Learn more about this group by clicking here!

Michelay agreed to let me ask her a few questions regarding writers-in-progress.

:star:How is writers-in-progress different from the other literature groups on dA?

I can't say with certainty because I haven't really researched any other group.  However, writers-in-progress only allows writing tutorials, templates, etc. as submissions in the gallery.  I think that makes it unique.  We are all about providing resources for writers to become better.

:star:The group focuses on discussion of the writing process, how hard is it to come up with a topic to discuss with the members?

It's easy and hard.  Some weeks, I have several ideas I want to write about all at once.  Others weeks, I can't think of anything to say.

This is why I love it when members post blogs.  As long as it has to do with the writing process (and isn't offensive in some way), I am quite willing to let others have the floor.  At those times, I can better participate in the discussion, which is always fun.

:star:What do you think has been the most interesting discussion in writers-in-progress so far? Why?

I guess it would have to be the discussion on being interesting, but that may be because it was the last blog I wrote.

But I guess the most interesting discussions are the ones that spark interest and comments.  I love to read what people think.

Sometimes a person will write an opinion that is opposite of mine.  Other times the comments will change my veiw on a topic, clarify something that confuses me, or offer a different persepective that I hadn't thought of before.  The topics that spark discussions are are the ones I like best.

Thanks so much for updating folks on the change in #15-Minutes-of-Fame 's folder system. We've finally gotten around to posting our group guidelines on our page, which includes the folder change, other housekeeping items, and what we're looking for, as far as literature for our group.

There's a new prompt, too, for folks who might want to check that out. :)

Thanks, again.
