Deviation Actions
Welcome to the third issue of Lit Linked! This is a monthly article featuring ten literature pieces that have Linked to another deviation [or deviations].
dALinkSystem is a group dedicated towards increasing artists exposure by helping others and themselves through a simple and effective "Linking" system: Link another artist's submission in your artist's comment box. It helps everyone's exposure and finds undiscovered art.

I will be accepting suggestions for pieces to feature, but they must link to someone else's work as per dALinkSystem's submission guidelines. [It doesn't have to link to another literature deviation, they do not have to be a member of the group, nor does the piece have to be submitted to the group]. ♥

PsycheTenho uma borboleta
Psyché da minha alma
Dentro de mim está
Viverá para sempre
Metamorfose
Que não será mais que uma meta
Onde o casulo morre
E a vida nova se liberta
Abre as asas
Voa pobre criatura
Que de pobre não o és
Quando o casulo apazigua
Alma quem te chama?
E quem sabe o que significas?
Discurso da minha alma
Metamorfose
Borboleta
Com cores apagadas
Sai do casulo
E pinta-te de saudade
How To Write Music ReviewsHow to write a music review: REVAMPED!
Writing a music review can be rewarding. It gives you the opportunity to share your opinions with others, whether they be positive or negative. To some, writing a review comes fairly easily, but to others... not so much. I'm going to attempt to cover the main points of a review here, but please note: this is how I write reviews. It's not how everyone writes them and it's certainly not the best. But it's simple. So, let us begin.
Picking your piece
What are you going to review? Reviews in professional publications tend to be of recently released material, but for blogs and other online sources (including groups on our lovely deviantART), anything goes. So how are you going to choose? It's very tempting to review material that you like (and I know I'm certainly guilty of that), but it can also be very helpful to review things you're not so keen on. It gives you the opportunity to work out exactly why you don't like it (and in some case

Quotes raped from a critique of Nathanial Hawthorn's Twice Told Tales by
Edgar Allen Poe - 1837
Edgar Allen Poe, celebrated as one of the finest short fiction writers of all time, was also a literary critic. These are bits of his wisdom on writing short stories, gleaned from one of his critiques.
"The true critic will but demand that that the (story's) design intended be accomplished, to the fullest extent, by the means most advantageously applicable…" -- Poe
Poe's Prerequisites -- in a Nutshell:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To deliver fullest satisfaction, a short story should be structured:
1) To be read in one sitting.
2) Using a deliberate number of characters and incidents.
3) With words restrained in style and tone.
4) All done that should be done, with nothing done which should not be.
Dear future meDear future me,
I'm writing to you from the first half of 2011. I'm not sure why I'm doing this, but since a year ago I wrote to our past self, and it was a hard thing to do, I supposed it would make my future task simplier. After all, you can just reply to this letter rather than wonder what you were doing several years ago.
So. I'm 20 years old if you happen to be still as bad with calcullus as we always were. I'm together with K. for over three years (both of us have no idea how long it is exactly, but since his cousin married 3 years ago and we were a couple then, we know at least this). The question is not if he'll stay with me, but if we'll be safe? When he's going to propose to me? Wait, no. Don't answer that last one. I don't want to know, I want it to be a surprise!
I'm struggling with final exams at university right now. I'm, as always, panicking I won't make it, and that everything will go the worst case scenario. And that I won't be able to write my diploma papers.
Checking In
It's been quite a while since my last journal entry, about five years. I hope whoever is reading this knows I've never forgotten anyone and I think of all the friends I made here with such love and joy. I'm not sure how many people still linger on DA, but I hope that if you somehow stumble back to my page you know that I love you and wish you well. There is simply too much to go over for the span of five years, so I'll keep it short and sweet. I love you and I missed you. I don't write quite as much as I used to, but I've started dabbling more often again and was thinking of posting once more. I'm terribly out of practice, but it's something that's always been cathartic so it doesn't matter too much to me how "good" it is. Sometimes you just have to get the feelings out. Anyways, I hope you are having a wonderfully lovely day, my lovelies. How about some questions! What's your current favorite song? A video game you can't stop playing? TV show or movie you wish everyone else would
Renewal
It has been a rough few years for myself and my family. It is strange to think that for once in my adult life that I am legitimately doing well, not pretending or being close but not quite there. Things are almost infinitely better than 6 months ago and, if I'm honest, it feels like that was years ago. DA has always been a home and as I've slowly gotten better I find myself missing it and all the friends I've made more and more. I know I do not elaborate much on my personal life, but perhaps now that so much is behind me I can allow myself to discuss it more. In truth, I'm not even sure where to begin, but updating on what happened in the la
Birthdays and Change
I wanted to thank all the lovelies who wished me happy birthday recently, I read all your comments and it made me extremely happy. ♥ It was nice to hop on and see that I was thought of, I truly appreciate it beyond words.
However, I know have been very absent for a few months now. Things have not be going well in my life for the majority of the year (and if I'm honest the last 2 years) now and I have had to put DA on the back burner. I still find myself coming to the site, reading comments/replies, looking at deviations, but currently I am overwhelmed by everything that I can't bring myself to do much else.
I find myself now on the pr
