Daily Deviations

An Expose-Lit Guide

What are they?

Daily Devations, or DDs, are a 24-hour feature chosen by the Community Volunteers given to a single deviation. It gives the deviation and artist the chance to be seen by a good portion of the deviantART community. It will appear on the Daily Deviation page along side all the other DDs given that day.

deviantART FAQ's Regarding Daily Deviations

Helpful Hints

:bulletred: Click here for the Daily Deviation page!
:bulletred: It's a feature, not an award.
:bulletred: A person can only receive a DD every 6 months.
:bulletred: Each Community Volunteer can feature one DD a day for their category.
:bulletred: There are currently 2 Literature Community Volunteers, CVs, and they are aiming to give two Daily Deviations a day!
:bulletred: thorns and BeccaJS are the current Literature CVs.
:bulletred: If you don't like what's being featured, suggest! Suggest, suggest, suggest!

Why Suggest?

:bulletred: Because you can! All of us have the power to suggest. ♥
:bulletred: If you think a lit deviation isn't getting enough attention.
:bulletred: Get exposure for great writers you think deserve more attention.
:bulletred: The best things are even better when shared.
:bulletred: Your commentary and username are seen by everyone for 24 hours.
:bulletred: The recipient will be thankful, appreciative and happy. Happy people are good! :eager:
:bulletred: It's the best kind of feature on dA.
:bulletred: You are admired for your taste.
:bulletred: Show everyone outside the Lit Community what we're made of. Remember, DDs are site-wide!
:bulletred: It's satisfying! Everyone loves that feeling when something they like gets picked.
:bulletred: For The CVs! They appreciate suggestions! :dummy:

Before Suggesting:

For the CV you're intending to suggest it to:
:bulletred: Read the CV's guidelines, sometimes they will tell you what they are looking for in a DD. This will make suggesting easier for you!
:bulletred: BeccaJS - Beccalicious' DD Suggestion Guidelines
:bulletred: thorns - thorn's DD Suggestion Guidelines
:bulletred: Look at the CV's Favorites Folder and past DDs they featured. Is your suggestion of similar or greater quality?
:bulletred: If the deviant has had past DDs, check who featured it. A CV may be more hesitant to feature the same deviant multiple times.
:bulletred: Send your suggestions to only ONE Literature CV.

For the deviant whose piece you intend to suggest:
:bulletred: Is the deviation in the right category?
:bulletred: Is the deviation all ready very popular? If so, it will benefit little from the exposure of a DD.
:bulletred: Is the deviant still active? You want them to be able to appreciate the feature!

Some Words From Our Lit CVs

ikazon on DD suggestions:
"Do it. All the time. If it's in the literature gallery, suggest it. Every time you read something and think, 'yeah, that was worth the time it took to read', or anything to that effect, suggest it. Want to try to promote your own work? Self-suggest. We love suggestions all of the time! [...] I've been told I'm picky with my suggestions, and I can be at times, but really, I am always grateful that people suggest works, because it brings deviants and writing to light that I might not have otherwise seen. So don't ever hesitate to send suggestions to me, I really like them!"

BeccaJS on DD suggestions:
"We may not choose every single feature you send in, but we all have ideas of what we want to see. Keep persevering- the reason why you may see the same names on the suggestions list is because they send in a consistent amount of DDs. Also, I still have DD notes from September with considered DDs in, I don't DD straight after suggestion so don't worry. And don't think because we haven't featured one of your suggestions that we won't feature any more, keep sending in."

Thank you for all these "tutorials" for lack of better word! Who do I go to for a non literature piece to suggest?
