There are shadows around you, little threads of darkness that remind you of sticky Sundays spent under the bed, hoping your parents wouldn't notice you and whisk you off to church.  
 
But now the shadows are darker (they grew as you did) and they skim over your skin like velvet. You can almost taste them, as you melt closer into the walls, like particles of dust on your tongue.  
 
You thought running away would be hard, but you have never felt so whole.

The first time i read this was 4 years ago, back then I believed it's one of the most influential pieces I've read, I still do. I don't think i'll ever find the words to express how this makes me feel or how great it is.
